“I had a chance to spend the day relaxing by myself and the penthouse was perfect for this. Doors open to let in the breeze and soak in the 100km views. Feet up on the couch, pay tv keeping me entertained and a cold beer in my hand was the ultimate therapy for my travel weary legs. Alan and Heidi took me out for dinner and drinks and I got to see how the locals live it up, play soccer pool and sit right on the water line with some of their friends . All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I’ll be rebooking on my next trip over.”

Hidden Paradise (Whetū, New Zealand. Stayed July 2016)

“Hidden paradise, away from the busy centre which is a bit noisy during day and night time. The slow life mentality balanced it all and having the knowledge we went back home to Star Villa with the good views, decks, space and of course a Chang … Made our Koh Tao visit awesome. Great house to stay with 2 families (4 adults & 4 teenagers). Heidi and Alan took good care of us, together they are perfect hosts, a good team! We enjoyed the dinners together with them at the beach. Good memories!”

“This was my 2nd visit to KTSV, my first was about 4yrs ago….it was equally fab this time! Please refer to my previous review for details, because not much has changed. I found that the island has developed slightly since my last visit, but these developments are all good and haven’t detracted from the laidback atmosphere, beautiful scenery and great mix of people. The scuba diving was amazing (I went with Mojo Divers who were great). I was travelling solo and Alan and Heidi really went out of their way again to make me feel at home – cheers guys!”

“We liked the location of Star Villa for its quietness and natural environment. The rooms and the resort themselves are very very clean. Heidi and Alan were always there to answer any questions or request we had. They provided us with a mobile phone which was helpful to reach them. Even if you need to walk 15 mins to get to Sairee beach, they were always available to give us free rides when needed.”
