Recreational SCUBA Diving.
Koh Tao is a great place to learn to dive. There are many different dive spots dotted around the edges of the island and there are deeper dive sites close by that offer the chance to see Black Tip, Bull and even (if you are very lucky) Whale Sharks. There are many, many dive schools on Koh Tao, so you can take you time and choose one that best suits you and your needs. But if you would like a little help and guidance, we will be happy to help you chose a dive school once you arrive on Koh Tao. And be assured that we will only suggest those dive schools that contribute year round to the wellbeing of the reefs around Koh Tao - those that put effort in, every month, to maintain and improve the ecology of the underwater world that surrounds us.Even if you are a little nervous about diving, the hugely experienced instructors that we know personally can help you overcome your fears and get your Open Water qualification. And then, if you like, you can do your Advanced Open Water - this qualifies you to dive down to 30 meters below the surface! Both PADI and SSI courses are available.
And then there is Rescue, Emergency First Responder, Dive Master and Instructor courses available. These are quite rigorous and demanding courses and our customers that have done them have been very glad that they have stayed at Koh Tao Star Villa whilst doing them - a place of peace and beauty to relax in, and recharge their depleted batteries.

They are a highly experience, dedicated technical diving team set on exploring and mapping Thailand's wrecks and caves and every month they carry out cave and wreck exploration trips. Using the cave systems in southern Thailand (including the deepest cave in the world) they undertake training and exploration trips and also search for virgin WWII wrecks in the gulf of Thailand aboard their technical liveaboard. Come join them hunting for new wrecks and WWII Japanese "Maru" ships sunk by the Allies and visit some of their favorite wrecks including Super tankers, Air planes, Japanese WWII Maru's, Thai navy ships and US submarines.

Tec and cave Instructional facilities are second to none and the dedicated Technical and Cave dive instructors offer some of the most demanding and challenging technical diving courses available. DSAT, TDI, GUE and BSAC tec, tri mix, cavern, wreck and cave courses are hugely rewarding and they always strive to make every student stand out as a highly knowledgeable and skilled technical diver.

Technical Wreck Diving is undertaken using a Live-Aboard based here on Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand.
